Sarah Cody not only provides a positive, motivating environment within her office, but also in other departments throughout the University. She oversees a staff of 17 with continued emphasis on the group's expansion of knowledge base, personal growth, and professional development.  Through Sarah's support, 3 staff members have earned the highest certification within their profession; and she focuses on having team members play to their strengths by leading department exercises in self-assessment, and then tailoring roles and assignments accordingly. She has organized leadership workshops with both TTU Human Resources and external providers to provide guidance and new ideas for staff.  She continuously monitors the team's workload, especially during times of understaffing, and takes tasks off of the team's plates to alleviate overload, working way past regular working hours to make sure no one is overburdened.  She does all this with a cheerful outlook throughout every day – nothing's a problem, just an opportunity to improve. In the external campus environment, Sarah remains focused on solutions that reduce administrative burden for faculty members.  She has implemented award-opening orientation sessions & report deadline reminders for faculty.  Her engaging & thoughtful interactions with the campus community show her collaborative nature, and campus stakeholders respond in-kind, creating true resolution of concerns & process issues.
