Great Plains IDEA

Undergraduate and graduate students also have access to online courses offered through the Texas Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Distance Education Alliance and the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA).

Texas FCS Alliance is a statewide network of Texas universities offering online courses designed specifically to meet Texas teacher certification standards. To register for Alliance courses, students must be enrolled in a teacher certification program at one of the participating universities and receive academic advising from a faculty member at that university. Great Plains IDEA is a cooperative effort of Family and Consumer Sciences Education programs in several states to provide information about distance education courses that may contribute to teacher licensure in any state. Before enrolling, prospective students are advised to contact the state agency that administers teacher licensure or a Family and Consumer Sciences faculty member at a university in the state where they wish to become certified.
