Jarrett was born and raised in Lubbock and has been a member of the Texas Tech community since 2019. He graduated from the College of Media & Communication with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media Industries in 2020. Prior to attending Texas Tech, he received his Associate of Arts in Radio, Television, and Film from South Plains College in Levelland. He has a passion for assisting students achieve their academic and career goals. Jarrett also enjoys going to movies and concerts, fishing, and watching basketball in his free time. Let's go Red Raiders!

Josh is a Lubbock native and has been a member of the Texas Tech community since 2012. He graduated from the College of Arts & Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2015, and then went on to complete a Master of Arts in History in 2017. Prior to joining the PPHC team, Josh worked for University Libraries, and has taught guitar for the past few years. Josh enjoys playing music with his band, going to movies and concerts, and watching baseball in his free time. Wreck'Em Tech!!

Rachel was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, and has a proud family tradition here at Texas Tech University. In 2015, she graduated from Tech's School of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and then went on to teach Art at Lubbock High School. She is a strong supporter of education and promoting creative and critical thinking to help develop learners into active and meaningful members of their communities. Rachel joined the team at PPHC following her passion for supporting students as they pursue success in all of their goals. She spends her spare time reading, playing tennis, and creating works of art.

 

 

Angela Chisum

Angela Chisum

Angela was born in Lubbock, Texas, but spent most of her life in New Mexico before deciding to come back and make Lubbock her home. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Sciences from Texas Tech University in 2022. She also started her professional career at Texas Tech in 2022, where she advised students going into TSI coursework. She has always enjoyed connecting with people and has a passion for advising. She enjoys getting to know students and helping them realize their goals and what steps they need to take to achieve them.

In her free time, she enjoys trying new sourdough recipes, hanging out with her husband and cats, and sitting down with a good book. She has always loved going to concerts and musicals, so pretty much any kind of live performance. These are some of her favorite artists she's seen live: Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, Paramore, One Direction, Halsey, and Ed Sheeran.

Eli was born and raised in Lubbock, TX and became a member of the Texas Tech community in 2015. He is the third generation in his family to do so. Eli graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Before coming to Tech as staff, Eli worked for two years in retail management with H-E-B where he was responsible for efficiency metrics and partner training for the Service Department. He also served as a Student Success Specialist at Texas Tech. 

In his role as a PPHC advisor, Eli's focus is on engaging students so that they may discover, develop, and realize their goals. By participating in open dialogue with students, he hopes to help them navigate their courses successfully and to become an active participant in their own lives.  

In his free time Eli enjoys reading ridiculous LitRPGs and Sci-Fi novels, baking, knitting, and singing. He is the proud father of a Chihuahua-mix named Ginny who he promises is nice once she gets to know you.

Amy has over a decade of experience working at the university as well as secondary school level. A native of Lubbock, Amy chose to pursue her studies in other areas of the country, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Management at Tulane University. Upon graduation, Amy moved to Boston where she worked at various universities and obtained her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration at Boston College.

Having served as a former Director of Admission at a private school in the Boston area, Amy truly enjoys getting to know people from all walks of life and counseling them toward a successful future. Most recently, she worked as an Events and Logistics Manager in the Los Angeles area, managing hundreds of events for a private school. Amy likes to work with students who are inquisitive and who enjoy the self-discovery process. In her free time, Amy enjoys attending concerts, art exhibits, and traveling with her husband. She will also never turn down the opportunity to eat Mexican food!

Karin was born in Rochester, New York, then moved to Ontario, Canada, where she began her career in healthcare, working as a medical office manager for 29 years. She also served as President of the Medical Secretaries Association for many of those years before returning to the U.S., when she moved to Lubbock in 2006. Before joining the PPHC team, Karin has had experience with local Lubbock physicians, as a Lead Counselor in Medical Research, and then at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center with Rural and Community Health.

Ryan has been in academic advising since 2002, working with students from the exploratory to the declared, first generation to legacy, and from fine arts to pre-professional health. He also serves in leadership roles at both the state and [inter]national levels and his professional interests include advising history, theory and philosophy; leadership theory; and the intersections between advising and higher education's larger purpose. A graduate of Texas Tech, Ryan's academic background includes studies in Human Development, Public Administration, Leadership, and Higher Education Administration. He is also a HUGE Star Wars nerd!

Catherine Nutter, BA, MA, PhD, is originally from Abilene, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M University and her Master of Arts in English from Sam Houston State University. She completed a PhD in Higher Education Administration at Texas Tech. Everyday, she is a Red Raider.

Cathe's advising philosophy is simple: Create a ripple; guide its growth; champion the wave. It is by making little changes that we impact ourselves, then society, then the world. The statement also reflects her leadership philosophy.

Cathe spends as much time as possible with her family and enjoys reading, cooking, and most outdoor activities.
