Welcome to Texas Tech's Faculty Fellows Mentoring in Engaged Scholarship Program

Outreach and Engaged Scholarship is one of Texas Tech's strategic priorities, and through this network, we aim to support faculty from all disciplines and all ranks in their understanding and pursuit of outreach and engaged scholarship.

Specifically, the mission of the network is to empower participation in outreach and engaged scholarship by

• energizing participatory education
• demonstrating the mutually rewarding benefits of OES and
• creating an inviting space for the best of creative scholarship.

 

What is Engaged Scholarship?

Engaged Scholarship is a form of scholarship that involves mutually beneficial partnerships between the community and Texas Tech University for the purpose of addressing a community need or larger societal challenge. Faculty apply their disciplinary knowledge to the issue – whether through teaching, research, creative activity, or service – and leverage it with the knowledge and experiences of the community partner. Through this process, they co-create new knowledge that benefits scholarship and communities alike.
