Course Advising

All graduating seniors will have a hold from their assigned advisor the semester before their graduating term for course advising. Course advising holds become active after the last drop day for the current semester, which is usually after courses for the upcoming term have been posted but before pre-registration begins. You will not be able to register until you have discussed your plans for the upcoming semester(s) with your General Studies advisor.

Who is my General Studies advisor?

Thinking about your plans for the upcoming terms before meeting with your advisor will streamline your advising session, so please have a general idea of your plans for the upcoming term(s) before contacting your advisor. You should use your official degree audit as a reference to begin building your course schedule. You can find your official degree audit by going to DegreeWorks.

Registration Guide

Search for Courses

Log in to Raiderlink using your eRaider username and password. Navigate to the TTU MyTech tab. Under the Manage My Enrollment header, select Registration. Select Section Search Tool. Select the appropriate term and campus (online courses are listed under the Distance Electronic campus). Select your desired subject(s) and course(s), then select the Get Class Info button.

If you prefer a certain course section, make note of the 5-digit Course Reference Number (CRN) for each course. If you have no preference on course section, simply make note of the course number (ex: ENGL 1301) and proceed to the Visual Schedule Builder. It is highly recommended that students use the Visual Schedule Builder as they select their courses in order to see a calendar of their course options. Learn how to use Visual Schedule Builder.

If you used the Visual Schedule Builder, make a note of the CRNs listed in the bottom of the left hand column. If you did not use the Visual Schedule Builder, use the list of CRNs you collected in the Section Search Tool. Once you have obtained the CRNs for the courses you wish to take, you are ready to register for courses.

Students can use the Plan Ahead function in the Add or Drop Classes tool. This will allow you to prepare up to five preferred schedule(s) in advance of your registration date, save them, and access them on your registration date. Just a couple clicks will register you for the classes in a saved Plan Ahead schedule. You can learn more about Plan Ahead in the document below:

Add or Drop Courses

Add Courses

Log in to Raiderlink using your eRaider username and password. Navigate to the TTU MyTech tab. Under the Manage My Enrollment header, select Registration. Select Add or Drop Classes. In the new window, select Register for Classes. Select the appropriate term. Use the search tool to add classes; or, if you have already collected the CRNs for your desired courses, select the Enter CRNs tab and enter all CRNs. Select the Add to Summary button to add your selections to your summary. Select the Submit button to register for the selected courses. Confirm that the correct courses were added to your schedule and resolve any registration errors. If all courses list Registered as their status, you are successfully registered for courses. If any courses list Error as their status, refer to the Notifications area in the top right of your screen for more information.

Drop Courses

Log in to Raiderlink using your eRaider username and password. Navigate to the TTU MyTech tab. Under the Manage My Enrollment header, select Registration. Select Add or Drop Classes. In the new window, select Register for Classes. Select the appropriate term. Use the drop-down action menu for the course(s) you wish to drop. Select Drop - Delete on Web for each course. Select the Submit button to remove the selected courses from your schedule. Confirm that the correct courses were successfully dropped from your schedule.

Courses dropped after the 12th class day of long terms, or the 4th class day of summer terms, may incur an academic penalty. Always consult your advisor before dropping courses from your schedule after these dates. You may add and drop courses without penalty through the day before classes begin. Drops made before the 12th class day will not incur financial or academic penalties.

Withdrawal

Students may not drop their last course from their schedule; dropping all classes for a term is called a withdrawal, and may not be done through the Add or Drop Courses tool. Learn more about withdrawals.

View the TTU Academic Calendar for more information on add, drop, and withdrawal deadlines.

Registration Holds and Errors

Holds

Students often have registration holds on their accounts which will prevent adds and drops. Holds can only be removed by the office that originally placed the hold. Students should contact the appropriate offices to have holds removed or bumped to a future date.

To check your holds, log in to Raiderlink using your eRaider username and password. Navigate to the TTU MyTech tab. Under the Manage My Enrollment header, select Registration. Select Add or Drop Classes. Select Prepare for Registration. Select the appropriate term. Your registration status will be displayed along with any holds currently active on your account

If you receive an error concerning a Time Ticket when attempting to register, first confirm that you selected the appropriate term. If you continue to experience issues, please contact your General Studies advisor for assistance.
