United COVID-19 Vaccine Collaboration
A BIG chance for you to be a part of history! Earn some extra cash!
You can help provide COVID-19 vaccines to West Texas Communities. You do not need
medical training. You can choose to be paid or to receive practicum/course credit
if that is applicable to your degree program.
This is a great opportunity for you to serve people in West Texas during this Pandemic. Accessibility to the COVID-19 vaccine has been difficult for many rural communities, and many areas do not have vaccine sites to provide residents with the COVID-19 vaccine. To help meet this challenge, the Texas Tech University System and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center are partnering with United Supermarkets to deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to local West Texas communities.
You can be part of the solution! You do not have to be medically trained, these clinics need a few people with the skills to provide injections but actually need many more people to help with operating the clinic including helping vaccine recipients sign up for the vaccine, helping guide recipients through the vaccine clinic, indicating when recipients are to return for any required additional doses, and answering questions that recipients may have.
If you participate you can choose to either be paid in the range of $15-20 per hour for the hours that you are on site at a vaccination site or to receive student practicum or class credit if that is applicable to your degree program. United will also be making a $100 donation to the General Texas Tech Scholarship Fund for every 50 person hours that Texas Tech students participate in these clinics.
These COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be starting in late March or early April. Details regarding dates, times, clinic locations, and check-in/out will be provided at a later time.
