We are now taking interest in Fall 2025 writing groups!

Please complete this form by August 20th, 2025, if you would like to participate.

Program Overview

Each long semester (Fall and Spring), CATALYST organizes and supports writing groups for faculty and graduate students. This fills a present need to foster fellowship among faculty and/or students as well as provide time, space, and specific support to engage in deep and rich writing for scholarship (that includes but is not limited proposals, presentations, and/ or publications).

What Participants are Saying About Writing Group:

Writing group provided me an opportunity to professionally collaborate. Knowing I had this group to attend (mostly) weekly, it helped me to reduce stress. Consistent collaborations with colleagues, accountability, engagement and interactions with colleagues led to increased belonging.

Key Accomplishments:

  1. Development of five (5) CATALYST supported writing groups in Spring of 2025.
    • Three groups were faculty focused (one for tenure-track faculty specifically).
    • Two groups had online options for distance students and remote work faculty.
  2. A program evaluation of CATALYST writing groups indicated participants had:
    • Received mentorship from colleagues
    • Developed outlines and rough drafts for manuscripts
    • Completed manuscripts for peer review
    • Worked on articles for revise and resubmits
    • Cleaned and/or coded data for a research project
    • Submitted applications to fellowships
    • Generated conference presentations
    • Forged a teaching partnership with a faculty colleague in their group
    • Established Cross-departmental collaborations
