Katie Cortese is the author of Make Way for Her and Other Stories (University Press of Kentucky, 2018) and Girl Power and Other Short-Short Stories (ELJ Editions, 2015). Her work has earned prizes from Narrative Magazine, River Styx, Silk Road, and elsewhere. She has been granted a Tennessee Williams Scholarship to attend the Sewanee Writer's Conference, a Kingsbury Fellowship, and a residency at the Arte Studio Ginestrelle in Assisi, Italy. Her prose has recently appeared in journals such as Redivider, Gargoyle, Indiana Review, Gulf Coast, Blackbird, and elsewhere.
