Katie Cortese

Katie Cortese is the author of Make Way for Her and Other Stories (University Press of Kentucky, 2018) and Girl Power and Other Short-Short Stories (ELJ Editions, 2015). Her work has earned prizes from Narrative Magazine, River Styx, Silk Road, and elsewhere. She has been granted a Tennessee Williams Scholarship to attend the Sewanee Writer's Conference, a Kingsbury Fellowship, and a residency at the Arte Studio Ginestrelle in Assisi, Italy. Her prose has recently appeared in journals such as Redivider, Gargoyle, Indiana Review, Gulf Coast, Blackbird, and elsewhere. She serves as the faculty advisor for Harbinger Journal, co-Director of Studio E, and the Faculty Director of Texas Tech University Press. Learn more at www.katiecortese.com.
