Betty McDonald PhD Student - Technical Communication & Rhetoric

Betty is a lifelong learner. After taking a course in technical writing at the University of Clear Lake while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in management, she decided to pursue a Master of Arts in technical writing at Sam Houston State University. Motivated by other students and professors, she decided to continue her education and became a PhD student in Technical Communication and Rhetoric. The courses in technical communication have been extremely beneficial to her current position as a network documentation specialist. The rhetoric courses have sparked her interest in conducting rhetorical analyses of ideologies in medicine, social justice, social media, and other areas.
