Exploring Markets and Society — Fall 2024

The theme for the fall 2024 reading program is Exploring Markets and Society. The program will engage discussions that offer a unique chance to understand the underpinnings of economic thought and its relevance to societal, political, and policy-related issues.

Participants will read and discuss a curated selection of authors that address fundamental questions at the heart of political economy. It will provide an invitation to critically engage with ideas shaping our understanding of the world, encouraging a deeper comprehension of the forces at play in today's global landscape.

Program Details

The group will meet weekly on the Angelo State University campus throughout the fall 2024 semester for Socratic-style discussions facilitated by Edwar Escalante, Assistant Professor of Economics at Angelo State University and Research Assistant Professor at the Free Market Institute.

Meetings will take place on Monday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM. The program will begin with an Introductory Session on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Further details including the schedule of readings and topics of discussion will be provided to participants and can be found on this page when that information becomes available.
