Sarah Denny Verstuyft

Substitute Teacher
TTU K-12

Hello, my name is Sarah Denny Verstuyft. I have a bachelor's degree in history from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and a master's degree in education from Texas State University in San Marcos. I have two sons and a Blue Lacy, the state dog of Texas, named Raider, who is 12 years old now. My oldest son will be a freshman at Texas Tech in Fall 2024. My husband is also a Texas Tech alumnus. We are definitely a house of Red Raiders! I have 20 years' experience in education as a middle school teacher and administrator, a high school teacher and Advanced Academics Coordinator, and as an elementary school administrator. I volunteer at a local museum and love history, literature and writing. The activities I enjoy the most are reading, visiting museums and forts, discovering history in small towns, hiking at state parks, traveling in my RV, walking on the beach, and of course watching sports, especially football with family. I am passionate about helping students find interest and excitement about history and literature and have the confidence to express their ideas. I look forward to having you in my class and helping you grow.
