Expand Course Access When Your District Needs It

Need to offer a course but don't have an available teacher? Have a student who can't fit a required course into their schedule?

Texas Tech K-12 provides access to more than 150 online courses and Credit by Exams aligned with Texas state standards. Students can enroll in courses year-round without traditional enrollment deadlines.

Districts can use Texas Tech K-12 courses to:

• Provide courses when a qualified teacher is not available locally
• Expand access to courses not currently offered by the district
• Resolve student scheduling conflicts

Full-Time Options for Students

For students who may need an alternative to a traditional school environment, districts may also recommend the Texas Tech K-12 online high school diploma program.

Students who enroll full-time transfer to Texas Tech K-12 to complete their coursework through our flexible online program.

Credit by Exams

Texas Tech K-12 offers Credit by Exams (CBEs) that allow eligible students to demonstrate mastery of course content.

CBEs can help districts support students who need to:

• Recover credit
• Test out of eligible subjects
• Demonstrate mastery
• Accelerate academically

Students are not required to purchase textbooks specifically for CBEs and may use Texas state-adopted instructional materials to prepare. Review sheets are available, and some exams may require additional projects.

Course & CBE Guide

Texas Tech K-12 offers convenient tear-off guides listing available courses and CBEs. These can be distributed by counselors and school staff to students who may benefit from Texas Tech K-12 services.

Schools can request printed tear-off pads by providing:

• First and last name

Institutional Pricing

Texas Tech K-12 provides straightforward institutional pricing for schools and districts.

District partners receive a 15% discount on online courses.

Online course and Online Credit by Exam pricing include online proctoring. The district partner discount does not apply to CBEs.

*Current CBE pricing will remain in effect through May 2027. Updated institutional CBE pricing will take effect beginning June 2027.

Payment Policy

Texas Tech K-12 accepts school payments through:

• Purchase orders
• Credit cards
• Checks

Payments and completed forms must be received before an order is processed.

All CBE fees are non-refundable. Print CBEs may be substituted.

School Counselor Tools

School counselors play an important role in helping students identify the right academic option and stay on track.

Texas Tech K-12 provides counselors with tools to monitor student progress and grades through an External School Counselor account.

To set up an External School Counselor account, email:

Counselors can also use Texas Tech K-12 course information, CBE review materials and Course & CBE Guides when helping students identify appropriate options.

Institutional Testing Services

Texas Tech K-12 provides institutional CBE testing services designed to make ordering, administering and managing exams easier for schools and districts.

Streamlined Ordering

Districts ordering exams for multiple campuses can request bundled test delivery using separate Test Summary Forms for each campus.

Prompt Grading

Exams are graded within five business days, with grade sheets sent weekly to both students and schools.
