Prepare for College. Start Earning Credit Now.

The Texas Tech K-12 College Prep Academy is a structured dual credit pathway designed for Texas Tech K-12 students who are ready to take their high school experience to the next level.

Academy students can take 8-week online Texas Tech University courses, earn transcripted college credit and experience the expectations of university-level coursework while still in high school.

More Than Dual Credit

College Prep Academy is designed to help students prepare for college, not simply earn college credit. Through the Academy, students can:

• Earn Texas Tech University credit before high school graduation.
• Experience college-level coursework taught by university faculty.
• Build confidence and develop skills for the transition to college.
• Get a head start on a future Texas Tech degree.
• Access scholarship support to make college coursework more affordable.

College Credit with Scholarship Support

Eligible College Prep Academy students may receive a $500 scholarship for each 8-week course. Additional scholarship opportunities are available for qualifying economically disadvantaged students.

How to Get Started

Students work with their Texas Tech K-12 advisor to determine eligibility, select appropriate college courses and ensure coursework aligns with their academic and graduation goals.

Once approved, students apply as dual credit students, enroll in their selected Texas Tech University courses and begin building their college transcript.
