Good Grief

As certainly as we will face death and loss, personally and in our community and family, we will grieve. Grief is a part of the cycle of life; however, we seem to lose our way in the process. There are no guideposts, no steps, no one-size-fits-all approach; we all grieve. Using Elizabeth Kubler-Ross' five stages, we will explore moving beyond acceptance to a sixth stage. This final stage, finding meaning, will be explored where the pain is inevitable, but suffering can be optional.

Cynthia Wimberly, Ph.D., has over 35 years of experience as a counselor working with all ages. She currently is the primary prevention director and Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) coordinator for the Noah Project.
