What Your Grandchildren Should Know About Africa

When your grandchildren ask questions about Africa such as,

  • “Where is it?”
  • “How big is it?”
  • “Who lives there?”
  • “Did our early ancestors migrate from there?”
  • “Are the people like us or very different?”
  • “What can we learn from them?”
  • “What can they learn from us?”
  • “Why should we care?”

What do you tell them? Part one of this course will give you answers; it is an introduction to Africa regarding its geography, history, people, and place in today's world.

Ross Bigelow worked in Africa for many years as a Peace Corps volunteer teacher of geography in Maiduguri, Nigeria in the early 1960s, and returned to work with the Ford Foundation, the United States Agency for International Development and the Peace Corps.
