Welcome to the GAIA Lab!

Research in the GAIA Lab generally examines how social identifiers such as gender and sexuality influence social dynamics, identity, and psychological health. We are also interested in whether similar mechanisms occur for members of other underrepresented groups such as those based on race, ethnicity, class, and ability. Several of our projects focus on gender stereotyping, gender and sex roles, minority stress and associated health outcomes, LGBTQ+ inclusion and retention, diverse stigmatized sexualities, and underrepresented populations in STEM fields.
