My focus is largely on research design and statistical analysis. I utilize these skills to answer questions about human behavior. My expertise is in social, group, and team behavior with a focus on optimizing performance and behavior in the workplace. Specifically, I am interested in the processing of gender role stereotype information and its effect on our perception of others, as well as methods of social influence used online. In 2003, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Kentucky with a minor in Sociology. I earned my Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University in 2007, followed by my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with a Quantitative Psychology Minor from The University of Alabama in 2014. I love fitness and you can often find me at the Texas Tech pool or at the Pure Barre studio.

My research focuses on stigma management and identity with respect to sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations, particularly within the BDSM community. I also study stigma and discrimination among gender and racial/ethnic minorities and the LGBTQIA+ community. I lived in several places while growing up: Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and now Texas. I graduated from Ohio University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, an English minor, and a certificate in Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies. My goal is to work closely with marginalized SGM populations and conduct research that eliminates stigma and promotes inclusivity and acceptance. I would love to do this work in the United Kingdom, especially because I am a big nerd. I enjoy watching fantasy/sci-fi shows and movies, reading books for pleasure, cuddling with my cat, gardening, and crafting. I also do archery, yoga, aerial silks, and I am a killer thrift shopper!
