Q. How can I contact Academic Testing Services for information about testing?
A. Call us at (806)742-3671, email us at testing@ttu.edu, or visit our office located at 214 West Hall, Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M.

Q. Where is Academic Testing Services located?
A. We are located in room 214 on the second floor of West Hall. If you come in through the main entrance at Broadway and University, we are the second building on the right.

Q. If I am taking a test at Academic Testing Services, where should I park?
A. If you have a commuter sticker, you will have to park in commuter parking when taking a test with us Monday through Friday. Otherwise, you must consult the Traffic and Parking employee located in the entry station before attempting to park on campus. Access to the building for Saturday testing in West Hall is the North center double-doors off the parking lot.

Q. If I must take a math/chemistry placement exam, can I take it at Academic Testing?
A. Academic testing does not administer these exams. You must contact each respective department in order to attempt these exams.

Q. Is credit earned by CLEP/AP/IB the same as credit earned by taking a course?
A. Credit earned through these exams shows as a credit on your transcript and you will not receive a letter grade, therefore scores will not affect a student's GPA.

Q. How do I know if I can attempt a CLEP exam?
A. As a student, it is your responsibility to determine whether you are eligible to attempt a CLEP exam. You should check with your advisor to be sure it will apply to your degree plan.

Q. Can I attempt a test that is not accepted by Texas Tech for credit at another school?
A. Tech offers every CLEP exam published by College Board and it is up to your discretion when you test to indicate that you would like your scores to be sent to another university.

Q. If I do not receive a passing score on a CLEP exam, when can I test again?
A. You must wait 6 months before attempting the CLEP exam in which you did not receive credit.
