Summer degree candidates of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing will receive their diplomas at 5:30 pm Saturday, August 9.

Doors are scheduled to open for guests 1.5 hours prior to the start of the ceremony.

The Clear Bag Policy is in effect for this event. Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12", or small clutch bags (not exceeding 4½” x 6½”) may be taken into the venue. An exception may be made for medically necessary items upon inspection.

Other purses and backpacks will not be allowed, and all small bags meeting the clear bag policy will be inspected.  Prohibited items must either be returned to the owner's vehicle or discarded; the arena will not provide a storage area for these items. 

Each guest is permitted to bring one unopened bottle of water.  All other outside food and beverages are prohibited. Limited concessions such as water, soda, and candy will be available for purchase. Venue concession stands are cash-free, but accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit cards, and debit cards.

Signs that may obstruct the view of the stage for others, banners, and air horns / noise makers are prohibited to help maintain the dignity of this special occasion. 

The arena is a no smoking venue. The use of tobacco and vape products is prohibited.

The arena is a CHL exclusionary zone for this event (guns free). Open carry is prohibited at all arena events. Please see the complete list of Building Policies & Prohibited Items for more details.

IMPORTANT PARKING & TRAFFIC INFORMATION:

Graduates and their guests are strongly encouraged to carpool and to plan to arrive early.

Please plan for a significant increase in traffic volume and allow plenty of time to park and to avoid last-minute traffic congestion and lines at the door.

Family and guest parking is located in the designated area shown on the map linked here. Accessible parking is available on the west side of United Supermarkets Arena for vehicles with a valid handicap placard. Guests needing assistance may be dropped off at the southwest entrance before the driver proceeds to the family/guest lot. Faculty and staff may park in the Student Rec Center lot with a reserved permit.

Accessible seating is located on the concourse level of the Arena. Commencement coordinators request that only one companion sit with each guest in the accessible seating area; all other guests should use general seating.
