Edna Maynard Gott Memorial Library
In-kind gifts can include rare books, periodicals, and journals to add to our public lending library, Edna Maynard Gott Memorial Library.
Founded in 1995 honoring Dr. Edna Gott, first woman awarded tenure in the Department of Economics. Materials provided by the College of Human Science and Preston F. Gott (1919-2002), Professor Emeritus of Physics.
Our collection covers over 40 different categories ranging in diverse topics covering art, culture, education, feminism, gender, health, history, household, literature (autobiography/biography/fiction/poetry), media, philosophy, psychology, power, politics, race, reproduction, religion, science/technology, sex, sexism, sports, writing, as well as social movements such as the Women's Liberation Movement and the Gay/Lesbian Movement.
We also have a series of Journals including; SIGNS: Women in Culture and Society, National Association of Women Deans, Administrators, and Counselors, Feminist Teacher, Feminist Theory, European Journal of Women's Studies and Feminist Studies.
The library space is open for studying, browsing the book collection and hosting small meetings. It is equipped with a screen for viewing DVDs. Films are available for use in classroom settings.
