Graduate Student Information

Graduate Students interested in applying for College of Mass Communications Scholarships should read and fill out the college's graduate application. Graduate students should also check the graduate schools website for additional scholarship opportunities.


Texas Tech Scholarships:


Scholarship deadline is Feb. 1. Scholarship status letters are sent by April 15. For further information, please go to the scholarship office's website. Completion of the standard scholarship application qualifies a student for consideration for all appropriate scholarships. New Scholarship Opportunities:

Kelsey Lauren Kidd Memorial Scholarship

Entering Texas Tech freshmen who are graduates of Lake Highlands High School in Dallas are eligible for the Kelsey Lauren Kidd Memorial Scholarship. A 2001 graduate of Lake Highlands High School, Kelsey was killed in an automobile accident on June 18, 2005, and the family has established the scholarship in her memory.

Applicants must have earned a 3.0 minimum GPA at Lake Highlands High School, meet all admission requirements of the University, as well as the academic requirements appropriate to the scholarship guidelines for their stated major. Recipients must be attending Texas Tech University on a full-time basis during the effective time of the scholarship.

Preference will be given to students with an expressed interest in pursuing a major in mass communications. However, if there are no qualified applicants in mass communications, the College of Mass Communications will make the scholarship available to qualified Lake Highlands High School applicants pursuing degrees in other programs at Texas Tech University. Demonstrated financial need will be considered.

Scholarship applicants must apply for admission to Texas Tech University at http://www.applytexas.org/adappc/commonapp.WBX before completing the scholarship application. Applicants will be required to create a user name and password. After completing the admission application, visit Financial Aid's Scholarship Office to complete a scholarship application. The scholarship deadline is February 1, 2006. The scholarship will be a minimum of $3,000.
