At a Glance
The Texas Tech University Department of Personal Financial Planning Executive Education provides opportunities for three programs.
- Master’s of Science in Personal Financial Planning
This degree requires 42 hours of curriculum in core subject material required for CFP Board-Registered financial planning programs as well as unique electives in technology, charitable giving, behavioral finance, practice management, and more. Students will be advised individually on the courses best suited for their degree plans.
- Graduate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning
This graduate certificate is a 28 hour curriculum and meets the educational requirements to sit for the CFP® certification examination. It includes the first nine classes of the MS degree program.
- Graduate Certificate in Charitable Financial Planning
This unique graduate certificate consists of 12 hours, three of which are required as part of the MS in PFP. Students will have the option to include this as part of their MS curriculum by selecting the appropriate electives.
Classes for the inaugural cohort will start January 2015 with the first on-campus class meetings late April/early May. Graduation ceremonies for those completing the MS degree will take place on May 2017.
