What does the dog's nose know? Come learn about what makes the dog's nose special and how it influences the everyday experiences of your own pet dog. Also learn about the latest on-going research in the canine olfaction lab and how it is helping us get a deeper understanding of the canine sense of smell. Additionally, this class will cover basic principles in dog training and how you can train your own dog at home to be a sniffer dog. Be prepared to leave this class excited to start training your dog to detect odors! Instructor: Nathaniel Hall, Ph.D., is the director of the Canine Olfaction Lab and assistant professor in Animal and Food Science at Texas Tech. Dr. Hall's lab currently explores canine learning, behavior and olfactory abilities.
