Are you a high school student (from 9th-11th grade) with a passion for STEM, architecture, or architectural design? Our 5-day free summer camp is designed just for you. Join us for an immersive experience where you will explore design thinking and gain hands-on experience in creating architectural models to potentially strengthen and improve Lubbock communities. Time: 9 am - 3 pm **Lunch will be provided
Program Highlights:
- Gaining Design Thinking Skills: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the application of design thinking principles.
- Engaging with Community: Gain understanding of how architectural thinking can contribute to community development and make a positive impact. Showcase your creativity/design at the TTU Museum.
- Hands-On Activity with Project-Based Learning: Apply your newfound knowledge by participating in collaborative projects, designing models that could potentially benefit Lubbock communities.
What do I need to know before I apply?
- Complete an application
- You will be asked to complete a personal statement highlighting your achievements, interests, goals, and reasons for applying. Highlight your interests in both STEM and architectural design (up to 700 words).
- You will need a letter of recommendation from a teacher in your high school before your application will be reviewed. If possible, ask them to discuss your academic achievements, work ethic, and suitability for the camp.
- You will need one parent to complete the release forms included in the application.
- Applications, including one teacher letter of recommendation, are due by March 23, 2024 at midnight.
- Applications will be reviewed and selected by April 10, 2024.
