Texas Tech University

What We Do: UCC Services

The University Career Center (UCC) promotes the success of students. Our services are available to undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni from Texas Tech University. While we are located in the Wiggins Complex on the Lubbock campus, students/alumni can schedule face-to-face, phone, or video appointments.

In order to take advantage of our services, log in to your Raider Success Hub account and make an individual appointment online. Alumni are welcome to call our front desk at (806) 742-2210 to schedule an appointment. UCC services include:

Document Critiques

Students/alumni may bring their resumes, CVs, cover letters, personal statements, teaching philosophies, and research statements to the UCC to get professional advice on how to make it the best it can be.

Mock Interviews

Our staff can customize a mock interview to fit each individual's needs through one-on-one, panel, phone, and video mock interviews and will offer immediate feedback and tips for improvement.

Career Assessments

The UCC offers four online career-based assessments that can help students/alumni explore majors, minors, and career paths. Our staff is qualified to interpret assessment results and help students/alumni explore possible career options.

Career Exploration

Our professional career counselors are trained to help students/alumni from all majors and can help answer career-related questions, provide feedback, and clarify your next steps in reaching your career goal.

Job Search

Through the UCC, students/alumni have access to Hire Red Raiders, a job board and event registration system available exclusively to Texas Tech students and alumni. Additionally, we provide access to other online job boards and job search tools to find details about job and internship postings as well as in-depth information about potential employers and industries.

Career Fairs & Events

Each semester the UCC offers a variety of free events to help students/alumni prepare for future careers. These events include career fairs, mocktail parties, etiquette dinners, and group workshops.

Webinars & Virtual Workshops

Each semester, UCC webinars and online workshops provide information on various aspects of career development, including developing your professional documents, working a job fair, negotiating your salary, and navigating the workplace successfully.
