Brigitta Boni
Year of MA/PhD:
Brigitta, originally from Italy, graduated with a BA in Language and Culture for Publishing from the University of Verona (2018), combining her passion for foreign languages and the literary and editorial world. After a year of Italian civil service in the Peruvian Andes, she developed a strong interest in the Andean environmental issues, social movements, and political activism. She also gained professional experience in Italy working in the reception and integration system for refugees and asylum seekers. She is currently an MA student in Literature and Cultural Studies in the Spanish program at Texas Tech University, where she focuses on transnational connections between culture, politics, and the environment in Latin America and Europe.
Research interests; thesis topic/title:
Transnational social movements / Indigenous studies / 20th- and 21st-century Latin American cultural studies / Gender studies / Environmental humanities. Thesis advisor: Mathilda Shepard.
