Gloria Cadenas Rodríguez

Spanish Graduate

Academic Biography:

I’m originally from a small town near Seville, Spain, where I first developed a love for languages and learning across cultures. I completed my BA in English Studies at the University of Seville in 2023, including a year abroad at the University of Glasgow—an experience that shaped my interest in multilingual education. After moving to Texas, I earned my MA in Hispanic Linguistics at Texas Tech University, where I now continue as a PhD student and Spanish instructor. My work is deeply rooted in supporting diverse learners. In my MA thesis, I explored how Spanish students with learning disabilities engage with writing tasks and how tools like ChatGPT can support their development.

I’m passionate about creating inclusive, tech-enhanced language classrooms—especially for neurodivergent students. My research combines second language acquisition (SLA), artificial intelligence in education, and a strong commitment to equity in language learning.

Neurodiversity in L2/HL writing, inclusive language pedagogies, AI in language education, Complex Dynamic Systems Theory (CDST), Spanish for students with learning disabilities.
