Academic Biography:

Juan was born and raised in Coquimbo, Chile. He earned his BA in English–Spanish Translation from INACAP in La Serena in 2016. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as a HELO (Host Economy Liaison Officer) at the APEC Women and the Economy Forum, and also served as a bilingual tour guide during the total solar eclipse event in La Serena. He completed his B.A. with a thesis on the localization of retro video games. He is currently a Spanish Instructor at Texas Tech University and is pursuing an MA in Hispanic Linguistics.
