Julia Millan Gomez

Spanish Graduate

Julia Millán Gómez earned her Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics with a minor in Applied Linguistics from Texas Tech University, graduating in Fall 2025. She currently serves as a Lector of Spanish at Yale University.

She holds an M.A. in Romance Languages, an M.A. in Event Organization and Business Tourism, and a B.A. in Translation and Interpretation (Spanish–English–Arabic).

Her teaching and research interests include applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, phonetics and phonology, second language acquisition, and heritage language education. She has extensive experience teaching Spanish and developing pedagogical materials for diverse student populations in both the United States and abroad.

Her work connects linguistic theory with classroom practice, with particular interests in multilingualism, language ideologies, and cross-cultural communication.
