Jorge Tellez
Academic Biography:
Originally from Laredo, Texas, Jorge Alberto Téllez obtained his BA in Spanish and Mathematics from Texas A&M International University in 2021. Initially focused on mathematics, he discovered a deep interest in Hispanic and Peninsular literature through Spanish courses and involvement in student reading groups. He later pursued an MA in Language, Literature, and Translation at the same institution, graduating in 2025. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Spanish at Texas Tech University. His academic work centers on 20th-century Hispanic and Peninsular historical memory in crime fiction and its critical relevance in contemporary society.
