Nicholas K. Verity MA Student - Literature

Nicholas K. Verity is a master's student in English literature at Texas Tech University. He earned a BA in History and Secondary Education from Clemson University in 2024 and currently serves as a high school U.S. History teacher.

His research interests are centered around the American Civil War and span a spectrum of topics concerned with the conflict. Primarily, he is focused on the ways in which poetry and the novel were employed not only as texts for navigating grief but also as mechanisms for forging a cohesive national identity in both the Union and the Confederacy.

Nicholas is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
