Whatever your interest, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with your professors and to learn from them the writing, researching, and teaching skills crucial to our profession.
Professional development is a key component of our MA, and every student in the program receives training in publishing, editing, conferences, networking, alt-academic careers, and careers in higher education. Whether you go on to a PhD program, to teach secondary education, or to a position as an editor or writer, our faculty will work to help prepare you for a successful career.
For onsite students, teaching experience is another highlight of our program, and during your time here, you'll have extensive opportunities to teach in our college composition program. You'll leave with an accomplished resume that speaks to your ability to teach the fundamentals of rhetoric, professional writing, and workplace communication.
Recent graduates of our MA program have been accepted into PhD programs at Ohio State University, the University of Rochester, the University of Mississippi, and the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, among other institutions.
