TTU Network and VPN Services

Multifactor authentication (MFA) is an additional layer of security added to the authentication process. The purpose of MFA is to ensure you are the only person who can access your account, even if someone knows your password.
Your eRaider account is your Texas Tech electronic identification. It is a single username and password that is required to access many resources at TTU.
eRaider Web Sign-in is a service which allows Texas Tech users to authenticate to web applications using their eRaider account. Developers can integrate eRaider authentication into their application.
The Texas Tech University IT Division provides many types of networking for both affiliated users and guests.

TTUnet VPN Service TTUnet VPN connection enables you to send and receive data from a non-TTU network as if your computing device was directly connected to the TTUnet network. This allows access to protected TTU resources from a remote location.

TTUnet and TTUguest Wireless Access

Guests without an eRaider can visit the service desks on the ground floor of the University Library for a temporary password. Since the guest Wi-Fi password is changed every few weeks, you may request a new password when your Wi-Fi password expires. For security reasons, we are only able to provide passwords in person.
Get Guest Wi-Fi Password Guests may contact the TTUS or TTU faculty or staff member who has authorized or sponsored the event on campus. Faculty or staff members who agree that the guest is a legitimate guest can look up the current password

Here are a few rules related to the campus agreements:

IMPORTANT: Some software downloads are only available to specific roles within Texas Tech. For example, retired faculty/staff are not authorized to purchase the campus agreement software, and students are not licensed for the Adobe software. For the latest details on which roles can access which software, please view the

 eRaider Account Software Profile :

  • Keep any special product keys given to you in a safe, secure place.
  • Do not disclose the special product keys to anyone.
  • Do not loan or give your friends or relatives your CDs, DVDs, or any other installation media to install on their computer. This is a direct violation of the agreement, and you could be held personally liable.
  • Some agreements require that students install the software on one computer only. Faculty and staff can install on computers at work where they use the software, and the license covers them for installing on one personal computer outside of work. Read each software agreement for the exact terms in detail.
  • Campus agreements do not include free technical support. Contacting Microsoft, Symantec, or any of the other vendors to obtain technical support may result in fees/charges.
  • For software not listed here, contact the software vendor directly, as they may offer discounts. Adobe, for example, offers discounts for college students, faculty, and staff. As always, check with the vendor for more information.

The website www.itts.ttu.edu/software also has a list of licensed software is available to the TTU user community. Look under the column for Faculty/Staff, Students, etc., to see if the software is available to you. Click on the software title to see the description and how to get it.
