Aqueous Geochemistry Laboratory

The Aqueous Geochemistry Laboratory within the Department of Geosciences is fully equipped for low-temperature experimental studies. The laboratory contains a range of commercial instrumentation and custom designed equipment.

Principal experimental studies utilize the BET surface area analyzer; custom designed solubility rig; autotitrators equipped with multiple burettes and pumps; high revolution centrifuge; and high frequency ultrasonicating-probe.

In addition, the laboratory is equipped with: a fume hood; ultra-pure deionizing water system; multiple Ross pH / conductivity meters and electrodes; analytical balances; water baths; drying oven; magnetic stirrers / hot plates; Eppendorf pipettes; ultrasonic bath; multimeter; vacuum pumps; and data logging systems.
