Interior and Environmental Design

Doctoral Program
The Doctor of Philosophy program provides study opportunities in the areas of Interior and Environmental Design and is the sole design doctoral program in the state of Texas. Students will develop a course of study in consultation with an Advisory committee.
The Ph.D. program requires a minimum of 67 semester hours of graduate work beyond the bachelor's degree, exclusive of credit for the dissertation. Students develop their program of study in consultation with a graduate advisory committee. Leveling coursework may be required.
The Interior and Environmental Design program focuses its research on health-care design and addresses the needs of a global and sustainable society.
Professional Opportunities
Academic positions in higher education and research, leadership positions in design and consulting practices in industry, government and education, professional opportunities in design firms, professional opportunities in retail establishments, professional opportunities in corporate institutions.
Graduates contribute their skills to design of commercial, institutional, corporate and health care facilities, as well as residential settings. They collaborate with related design professionals providing solutions to social and environmental problems.
