Texas Tech University

Educational Goals

The Interior Design program at Texas Tech is grounded in theory and creative exploration. Theory will provide the framework for design process, analysis, and application to address user complexities in relation to the near environment. Students will consider influential factors such as historical precedence, contemporary focus, human behavior and cultural impact to create informed solutions.

Students will have an opportunity to utilize creative, critical, and technical thinking to meet the needs of their clients. Effective visual, oral, and written communication will be demonstrated through a variety of methods and technologies. Both individual and collaborative exploration will prepare students to engage in a multidisciplinary profession. Experiential learning will lead students to an increased awareness of diversity, social dynamics, and business ethics that will foster an attitude of life-long learning.
