Educational Goals

The Apparel Design and Manufacturing program at Texas Tech University prepares students for entering into the apparel industry or graduate school. Students will learn to design, research, analyze trends, and develop their own apparel design products for mass production, couture or costumes. Students will learn how to utilize current manufacturing technologies for efficient design production processes and visual communications in industrial production development. Senior level students create and showcase their final collections in a professional fashion show and design exhibition. Students also have opportunities to develop hands-on skills and design practices through coursework and national design competitions. Career opportunities for graduates range from the designing of couture to the production of apparel, patternmaking, technical design, trend analysis, design education, and product development.
