The scope of research in nanotechnology is growing at an astounding rate and leading
to new paradigms in science and engineering. Texas Tech is committed to carrying out
state-of-the-art research in nanotechnology. Areas of interest include fundamental
science and growth of advanced semiconductor materials for optoelectonics and CMOS
applications, design, fabrication, characterization and implementation of MEMS, THz,
metamaterials, plasmonics, planar lightwave circuits, and integrated photonics. Research
is supported by Federal, State, and Industrial grants. The center supports education
programs in nanoscience, microelectronics, and MEMS.
