About the Program

The graduate program in sport management prepares students for careers in the sport industry. Students will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical experience in areas such as sport marketing, facility and event management, leadership, and financial management in sport. Classes are available in each of the aforementioned areas and other content areas of sport management.  Students have options of completing internships, participating in research projects, or completing theses.

We prepare graduate students for a broad range of management related positions within intercollegiate, interscholastic, professional, amateur, public or private sport organizations. We strive to provide a challenging environment by specifically relating the academic study of the management of sport to its practical side. We are able to provide a superior educational experience to our students by supporting our instruction with prior experiences in sport as well as current research in areas of sport marketing, risk management, sport leadership, and sport organizational behavior.
