Engaged Associate Deans Council
The Engaged Associate Deans Council at Texas Tech University plays a pivotal role in advancing the universitys mission of Outreach & Engagement. Formed in 2024, the Engaged Associate Deans Council serves in an advisory capacity for the university on institutional initiatives related to engagement. The council also serves as a critical conduit for relaying information between the Office of Outreach & Engagement and colleges and units across the campus. Comprised of Associate Deans, the council meets regularly to:
- Advise on strategic outreach and engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with the universitys mission to strengthen community impact through scholarship and service.
- Facilitate cross-college collaboration, sharing best practices in community-engaged learning, engaged research, and community partnerships to embed engagement across teaching, research, and creative work.
- Catalyze infrastructure and capacity-building, working to create and strengthen the tools, resources, and recognition systems that support faculty, staff, and students in meaningful engagement.
- Communicate and amplify engagement successes, helping to raise the visibility of impactful university-community collaborations at local, national, and international levels.
As a dedicated network of engagement leaders, the council acts as a bridge between individual colleges and the Office of Outreach & Engagement, ensuring that outreach & engagement are integrated into institutional planning, faculty recognition, and community impact strategies across the university.
