Presentations for Researchers
HRPP staff members would be happy to come to a department or club meeting, graduate or undergraduate class, or hold a brown bag session to help faculty, students, and other researchers learn more about the IRB process.
Below is a list of our standard presentations but we can also address specific topics to fit your research area.
To schedule a presentation, please contact our office at hrpp@ttu.edu or 806-742-2064.
An Introduction to the IRB
This session offers an overview of the history of the IRB and the federal regulations that guide the IRB.
Navigating Cayuse IRB
Learn how to submit an IRB in Cayuse IRB. This includes developing a protocol application and supporting documents, and the IRB review process. This session will address the most frequent errors and how to avoid them.
After IRB Approval
Interaction with the IRB does not end after obtaining initial approval for your project. This session explores the complete life cycle of a human subjects research project after IRB approval, including: Modifications, Renewals, Reportable Events, and Study Completion.
Consent Considerations
This session will review, in detail, each of the consent processes that may be used when conducting research. Discussions will include the most frequent errors and how to avoid these mistakes.
