ADA Compliance Committee
Committee Charge
The ADA Compliance Committee is responsible for ensuring that Texas Tech University is in full compliance with ADA guidelines by (a) reviewing and recommending resolutions on ADA accessibility related complaints brought forward by faculty, staff, and students, (b) reviewing current university policies for concurrence with ADA regulations, and (c) recommending changes in policies or procedures as they pertain to ADA compliance. The ADA Compliance Committee reports to the Provost.
Committee Membership
Members of the ADA Compliance Committee are appointed by the Provost or designee in consultation with the Campus ADA Coordinator. The ADA Compliance Committee is to comprise representation as follows:
- Campus ADA Coordinator / Committee Chair – Larry Phillippe

- EEOC Office – Charlotte Bingham
- Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – Carol Sumner
- Senior Vice Provost – Rob Stewart

- Faculty (2: 1 Faculty Senate appointed; 1 selected)

Quorum
A quorum is met when eight (10) of the eighteen (18) members are present with at least
one (1) staff representative and one (1) faculty representative.
Committee Meetings
- Convene bi-monthly unless otherwise needed
- Minutes to be recorded and distributed prior to next meeting
- Recommendations made by the committee must pass by a simple majority vote
- All members are voting members. The chair will vote only in the event of a tie.
Committee Recommendations
Recommendations from the committee shall be:
- Written
- Accompanied by meeting minutes
- Signed by committee chair
- Submitted to the Office of the Provost for action
