Joe Gauthier is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at
the Computational Catalysis Research Lab at Texas Tech University. Before joining TTU, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at
the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Dr. Gauthier received his PhD in chemical engineering from Stanford University in
2020.
Dr. Gauthier studies structure-property relationships used to design better catalysts
for processes relevant to renewable energy storage and conversion. By using atomistic
simulations and electronic structure calculations, his research group develops understanding
of the limitations of catalysts and engineers new materials to overcome these limitations.
Dr Gauthier has a passion for mentorship and supporting undergraduate research involvement.
