Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

Chemical engineering faculty are engaged in cutting edge bioengineering research spanning a broad spectrum of activities that impact human health and address the imminent global energy crisis. Interdisciplinary research is being conducted in the areas of vaccine design, drug delivery, nanomedicine, cellular signal transduction especially in the context of cardiovascular diseases, tissue engineering, cancer research, biofluid mechanics, high throughput screening, and biofuels. Engineering and biological principles are used in novel ways to create synergistic solutions that could have far-reaching impact on society and human health.
