Bioengineering

Chemical Engineering areas of strength lie in bioprocess optimization and control, cellular signal transduction, and biofluid mechanics. The Texas Tech University System offers a combination of interdisciplinary expertise that equips it well to address bio−engineering challenges in the 21st century. This expertise lies in the Whitacre College of Engineering (specifically chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering), the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, TIEHH, and the Institute for Mathematics in the Life Sciences. Through synergistic cooperation, the Texas Tech University System can make potentially significant contributions in the aforementioned areas, plus the fields of bio−materials, bio−signal processing, bio−image processing, bio−mechanics, and bio−sensors/measurements.
