Polymers, Rheology, and Materials

Polymers and materials science research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University spans the breadth of the field, with projects ranging from chemistry to physics to engineering. The general aim is to bring together the molecular, microscopic, and macroscopic through experiment, theory, and modeling. Topics include the stability of energetic materials, glassy pharmaceuticals, colloids and surfactants, ionic liquids, the glass transition, polymer rheology and nonlinear mechanics, membranes, nanocomposites, and the behavior of material at the nanoscale.
