Welcome back! We in CMLL are excited about starting the new academic year. Joining us are two new tenure-track faculty members: Dr. Caroline Bishop in Classics, and Dr. Andrea Jonsson in French. We have a new ESL instructor, Linley Jones Melhem, MA, who served this summer as the Interim Director of the International Teaching Assistant Workshop. Dr. Allison Cattell has also joined us as the Assistant Director of the Language Learning Laboratory and Research Center.

Study Abroad was a great success this summer. Over 100 students participated in CMLL-led or associated programs in Mexico, Spain, Russia, France, and Germany. Many of the participants wrote about their experience which you can read in the Study Abroad section in this current newsletter. Study Abroad is central to the CMLL mission and to help as many students participate as possible, we ask that you contribute to the Lorum Stratton Study Abroad Endowed Scholarship. Every little bit helps. And if you aren't able to contribute this year, please still contact us and let us know what you are up to.

CMLL will hold our 2nd Annual Tailgate in the Courtyard at homecoming on October 10. We will start festivities three hours before kickoff. Please join us for complimentary snacks and drinks. I hope to see you there!
