Jessica Aycock is the Associate Director of Academic Success Programs. In this role, she provides academic support to students of all levels of academic success to help students achieve their goals for their legal education.
Associate Director Aycock comes directly to the School of Law from the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney's Office, where she was an Assistant District Attorney in County Court at Law Number 1. While at the Lubbock County DA's office, she gained valuable experience in trial advocacy and criminal prosecution. She also gained professional experience as a student attorney for the Innocence Project of Texas.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Sam Houston State University and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law with a concentration in Criminal Law and Innocence.
Associate Director Aycock's research interests are in criminal law, the ethical prosecution and defense of individuals, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal field. During law school, she published an article advocating for states to implement new statutes that will help end the prosecution of human trafficking victims. She plans to continue her scholarship in both criminal law and AI in the legal field.
She is admitted to practice in Texas and New Mexico.
