Job Description

The Department of Economics at Texas Tech University invites applications for a lecturer position in economics, with a focus on teaching and, possibly, developing online courses. This appointment is effective September 1, 2023 (requisition #32453).

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative lecturer in economics to teach mainly online undergraduate courses but may also include hybrid and in-person teaching. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and an openness to innovative teaching methods. As an online lecturer, the candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and interactive course content, facilitating discussions, and providing timely and constructive feedback to students.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have a master's degree in economics or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching online classes. A Ph.D. degree in economics is not required but desired. Also, preference will be given to candidates who show ability to develop and teach courses that combine data analysis and programming with teaching economics.
