Texas Tech University

Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Economics at Texas Tech University offers a dynamic and challenging undergraduate program that provides students with a solid foundation in economics, as well as a variety of options to specialize and tailor their education to their individual goals and interests.

Our Bachelor of Science program is highly structured and technically oriented, ideal for students who desire an in-depth study of economics and its tools. The Bachelor of Arts degree, on the other hand, provides students with a broad liberal arts education while allowing them to specialize in economics and understand the complex relationship between consumers, producers, and governments in an economic system. The Bachelor of Science in International Economics program combines international politics and international business with economics to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the global economy.

In addition to these degree options, students have the opportunity to further enhance their economic expertise by enrolling in the new online Minor in Economic Data Analysis. This minor is designed to equip students with practical skills in data analytics, including proficiency in tools such as Excel and coding, and the ability to understand and use economic data effectively. It is particularly suitable for those aiming for careers in research, data analytics, or economics, providing a valuable skill set for the modern job market. The minor is fully online, making it accessible to students worldwide and offering a flexible learning schedule.

For students interested in a more theoretical approach, the traditional Minor in Economics is available, allowing them to deepen their understanding of economic principles and their application within various economic systems.
