Dr.Gerber is the Director of the Center for Collegiate Recovery Communities and an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences at Texas Tech University. Dr. Gerber completed his undergraduate degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master's of Public Administration at Texas Tech University. Dr. Gerber was the first to be awarded a Ph.D. in Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies from Texas Tech University in 2022. Along with the academic background, Dr. Gerber has extensive administrative experience in nonprofits and insurance. Dr. Gerber also has lived experience as a person in long-term recovery.
